What we know

Harlow Teachout's homestead of spring 1868 in Woodmen Valley: a cabin, a stone barn and a stone icehouse, whose walls still stood in 1976; a stage stop on the Pueblo-Denver road. Late in 1868 the Teachouts built Edgerton House, an inn with a dining room and eight bedrooms where Gen. Palmer sometimes stayed; in the 1870s up to 200 tuberculosis tents stood around it (PPLD record of survey B81). Not the Edgerton station mapped on Academy land; how the two Edgertons relate is open.

Where it was

'Between railroad tracks and Monument Creek approximately 3500 feet north of the Edmonson Trail Head parking lot (250 E. Woodmen …' (PPLD record of survey photo B81); 400 feet east of the trail in OpenStreetMap, opposite Jenkin Place. Good to a few hundred feet.

Placed from a written description, such as a land section, a distance from a landmark or an old survey note.
