What we know

Last home of Katrina Murat (1824-1919), whom the library's record calls 'the first European woman in Denver' and the maker of 'the first United States flag in Colorado'; she came to Palmer Lake about 1887 (PPLD record of survey B46).

Where it was

'At Glenarm and Highland Road in Palmer Lake' (PPLD record of survey photo B46); that junction in OpenStreetMap (2026-10-05). The record's biography puts her cottage in Glen Park, south of town; the 1976 location is used.

Placed from a written description, such as a land section, a distance from a landmark or an old survey note.
