What we know

Henrietta Dietemann and her son, about five, were killed and scalped while her husband was in Denver; her daughter, sister-in-law and a farmhand escaped. Their bodies were shown in Denver (News, Sept. 2, 1868; von Ahlefeldt p. 24).
