## What we know

'In a grove of towering pine trees one mile north of Spring Valley' (Marr); oldest graves dated 1870; Daniel Holden gave the back portion to 'the People of Spring Valley' in 1877; chapel built 1966. GNIS's point is half a mile north of the store site. Among the graves: six Gile children who died in 1880, the diphtheria year, and a marker for three Gwillim children of Gwillimville (Charlie Searle, Tribune, May 5, 2020, with photographs).
