## What we know

Dr. Asa Coggswell, a Colorado Springs dentist, started it just after World War I: five-acre tracts around a nine-hole golf course on the meadow, three man-made lakes (washed out in 1932, per Ellett), a clubhouse on a knoll and an icehouse by the lake. Disputes and the 1929 crash ended it. Clive McBroom told of a dugout trading post on the land, with old bills of lading (Ellett pp. 1, 60-61, 73; von Ahlefeldt pp. 80-81).

## Where it was

The club lay 'across the road from Brentwood' (Ellett p. 60), on the McBroom homestead in the valley of Kettle Creek (von Ahlefeldt p. 80). Good to about half a mile.

Placed from a written description, such as a land section, a distance from a landmark or an old survey note.
