## What we know

Wilkie Collins and Clarence Morrell's farm, from 1935 (von Ahlefeldt): about 150 foxes and some mink, with water carried from the creek between the two houses and meat ground by a Model A engine (Ellett p. 65). The farm gave the two acres at the SE corner of the crossroads for the Community Church (von Ahlefeldt p. 101).

## Where it was

'At the former Shoup Ranch just south of the Black Forest intersection, where the wire fox pens can still be seen from the road' (von Ahlefeldt p. 92); 'just south of the Community Center', where Collins lived in Cort Burgess's old house on the east side of the road (Ellett pp. 3, 65). Placed about 0.3 mile south of the crossroads, east side; good to about a quarter mile.

Placed from a written description, such as a land section, a distance from a landmark or an old survey note.
